About Chad & Kortney

Chad and Kortney were married in 2008 and have three daughters, Olive, Heidi, Elin, and two sons, David and Gavin. Chad grew up in Minnesota, but moved to Arizona to attend Arizona Christian University (formerly Southwestern Bible College). He graduated in 2004 with degrees in Business and Biblical Studies and began working in finance at Citi Group. During the 6 years at Citi, he was involved in youth ministry locally and overseas.

Kortney grew up in Arizona and has a heart for children and women’s ministries. Before she met Chad, she was working at Community Church of Joy. She served there for 4 years working with children in their after-school program and helping organize events. After meeting in 2007, Chad and Kortney both realized a shared desire and passion to serve Christ and felt his calling to serve together overseas.

This was made possible shortly after they were married when an organization asked them to move to Rwanda. Their mission was to help develop and implement ministry programs serving at-risk families and training local pastors. During their commitment in Rwanda, God opened numerous doors for personal and organizational ministry. After their original work was finished, they felt God’s leading to join GTN’s Global Justice Mission, which opens doors to expand their work throughout the many countries in which GTN trains pastors. They are currently continuing to develop ministry programs in Rwanda and are hoping to soon begin work in a few additional African countries.
